The Process
We want working with OSS to be a positive experience for both practices and pet owners. As well as clinical excellence, we understand the importance of great pre- and postoperative communication to ensure the best outcomes.

01
The vet identifies a condition that may require orthopaedic surgery & contact OSS via phone, email, or online.
02
OSS discuss the case with the vet and advise if a procedure is recommended, when the procedure can be performed, and the anticipated costs.
03
Once a surgical date is confirmed, OSS provide a consent form and any relevant preoperative information for the pet owner and vet practice.
04
The consent form is signed and the vet performs a health check 2-7 days before the procedure to rule out conditions that would prevent surgery (non-urgent cases only).
05
OSS contact the pet owner to discuss the procedure. On the day of surgery, we set up theatre, assist with preoperative preparation, perform the procedure and take the postoperative X-rays.
06
OSS contact the pet owner after surgery, and provide postoperative care instructions to both the owner and the practice. We remain available to the practice to assist with the recovery period.
